Atheists and Agnostics, I have a question for you? - answer! Answers
Atheists and Agnostics, I have a question for you? When you find that you have something huge looming over your head how do you find that you talk to yourself. Do you tell yourself that it will have a certain outcome, plead with yourself for a positive ending, wish for a happy conclusion, or none of the above?
Best Answer - Chosen by Askerif it is something that i can control, than i plead with myself to do what is necessary to produce a positive outcome, not to let fear , laziness, etc. keep me complacent and allow a negative outcome. i have some trouble with this. if it is something i cannot control then i wish, i hope, i dream. because i have the power to do so. it helps keep me going. its the act of dreaming that keeps me going, not the belief that my dreams will come true. im not sure if i really want them to come true, i feel some strange need to dream. it seems to be the only connection i have to what is beyond this world. it seems to be the only thing i have that gives me purpose, because it is not confined to time and space and so it cannot decay and die like that which is physical. so i let myself dream, but i dont necessarily believe my dreams, so i can accept this "something huge" looming over my head and accept the outcome whether positive or negative. what happens, happens. mystery is a purpose. something to chase.
