When I sold my photography business I decided to go and see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) in Alaska. I took my favourite shot at Bettles lodge and it was -30 degrees and all my equipment froze!

Your first photo is excellent. The second seems very strange with the pink/red tinge...

The pink photo is not re-touched, i think it was from the glow of the city lights!
